• SUPREME COURT JUSTICE
• Second woman appointed to Supreme Court (after Sandra Day O'Connor), and FIRST Jewish woman
• One of nine women (out of 500 students) to attend Harvard Law School, all while raising a 2-year-old daughter and caring for her ill husband
• FIRST woman to become a member of the Harvard Law Review Journal
• Asked by the dean of Harvard Law why she was there, preventing some "more-deserving" man from taking her place
• Unsurprisingly, she transferred and graduated FIRST in her class at Columbia Law School, where she became the school's FIRST female professor to receive tenure
• Worked for the American Civil Liberties Union (cofounded by Jane Addams, Helen Keller, and others), directing its Women's Rights Project and arguing six gender equality cases in the Supreme Court
• As a Justice, she's voted in the majority for several landmark cases, including King v. Burwell (upholding the Affordable Care Act) and Obergefell v. Hodges (legalizing same sex marriage at the federal level)
• Affectionately called "The Notorious RBG"
• Among her many honors, the most unique may be having a species of praying mantis named after her -- IIlomantis ginsburgae
• When she passed away in 2020, she became the FIRST woman and the FIRST Jewish person to receive the honor of lying in state at the U.S. Capitol
