• Adopted with her younger sister by their grandfather and his wife, Biles began studying gymnastics at age six
• Won four golds and one bronze at the 2016 Olympics, tying the record for the MOST gold medals won by a female gymnast at a single Olympic Games
• Won 29 World Championship medals, 19 of which are golds
• Known for complex moves that require more strength than most gymnasts possess, including THE BILES, a move on the vault that she was the first ever to perform at a world competition
• FIRST female gymnast to win the World all-around title three times in a row
• FIRST female African-American all-around World Champion
• Women's Sports Foundation's 2014 SPORTSWOMAN OF THE YEAR
• Named FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR in 2016 and 2019 by the Associated Press
• Partnered with University of the People to create the Simone Biles Legacy Scholarship Fund
• In 2016, Biles partnered with Mattress Firm to promote their Foster Kids charity, which collects and donates supplies to children in foster care
