Dolly Parton

SINGER & ACTRESS
Born into a poor family, Dolly was the fourth of twelve children
Already made her radio and television debut by the time she was 10 years old, and performed at the Grand Ole Opry when she was 13
Acted in several films, including 9 to 5, Steel Magnolias, and the 2012 film Joyful Noise
Parton is an EGOT -- one of an elite group of entertainers who have won all four major industry awards: Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, & Tony
A passionate philanthropist, Parton has poured much of her efforts into improving the lives of those in her home state, including opening her famous theme park, Dollywood, in Pigeon Forge, TN
Established the non-profit Dollywood Foundation, which manages her flagship literacy and book donation program, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library
Also regularly fundraises for the American Red Cross, animal rights, and HIV charities
She has received numerous awards, including the Kennedy Center Honors, a Living Legend Medal, a National Medal of Arts, and she was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame
