• FIRST American woman to win an Olympic gold medal in downhill skiing
• Considered by many to be the world's GREATEST alpine skier
• Placed sixth in her first Olympics, at 17 years old
• Won the 2008 and 2009 Alpine Skiing World Cup in both the overall and downhill competitions, and the 2009 World Championship downhill and Super-G
• Despite suffering severe injuries before both the 2006 and 2010 Olympics, she competed in both, winning gold in the 2010 downhill and bronze in the 2010 Super-G
• Also won her third Crystal Globe title in 2010, which is awarded to the skier with the most total points at the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup
• In 2016 she became the FIRST person -- male or female -- to win twenty Crystal Globes
• Founded the Lindsey Vonn Foundation, which provides scholarships and athletics for girls
• Also plays golf, often participating in charity golf events
