Not So Awesome
On January 7 2021, Sorenstam received the Presidential Medal of Freedom at the White House. Some criticized her presence at this ceremony, citing it as implicit approval of then-President Trump, who only the day before had incited a mob to attack Congress. Sorenstam responded by stating that it had been a "dark day in America's history," and she "like(s) to look forward, not spend energy on what could have been."
